vintage tin lithograph designs

I’ve always been a huge fan of collecting antique tins, in part because I love storing craft supplies in them but mostly because I find the old lithograph designs to be so inspiring. From their bold graphics to their beautiful type, there is tons to love about their design — and even more to love about their history. As a vintage lover AND a food lover, I just can’t get enough. In fact, I’ve been contemplating buying myself a copy of Labels Leadville and Lore – 1870’s-1890’s History From A Tin Can so I can find out as much as I can about the world of old tin cans and boxes. I realize this is pretty nerdy of me, but just lookit! Here are some from our shop:

I feel I may be on the verge of slipping into the black hole that is vintage tins on eBay…but I’ll try to hold off until my next flea market. Until then, I’ll just be imagining a whole shelf-full of these beauties in our new showroom.
