The best cordless vacuum for hardwood floors

What advantages do the best cordless vacuum for hardwood floors might provide you? First, like the handheld vacuums, they are very easy to maneuver, meaning you can slalom past furniture with ease. Second, like the upright vacuums, the best cordless vacuum for hardwood floors have a huge cleaning power to rid your house of dirt and dander.

Third, and this is the most important, they are lightweight and compact, so you can store them in a closet full of clothes if you want.

Hence, whether you want to make hardwood floors shiny – or just want them to last longer, you need cordless vacuums. And to make sure you only get the best of them, we have prepared a list of the five best cordless vacuum for hardwood floors.

Take a look.

Hoover Linx BH50010 Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner

Let’s be honest, none of us really like to cover half of the room with a vacuum, only to find its battery needs recharging. What we want, instead, are battery status bars to let us know the remaining battery timing even before we set on to work. Luckily, via an LED status bar, the Hoover BH50010 will let you know just that.

Secondly, if you have children at home, you need the bagless design as provided by this model. For, children are prone to throwing things here and there, including valuables. Vacuums, as you might guess, don’t discriminate, meaning they can also pick up valuables.

However, thanks to the bagless design of this vacuum, you’ll be able to see everything in its dirt bag. Hence, if you see something in the bag which you don’t want there, you can easily take it out.

Finally, the Hoover Linx has two cleaning modes: suction only and suction plus brush roll. If you want to clean a hardwood floor, the suction only mode will suffice. However, if carpets are also in attendance, Mode 2 would serve you better.

Pros

  • Provides good Suction Power
  • Good battery timing
  • Has a Low Profile
  • Can clean both hardwood floors and carpets or rugs

Cons

  • Doesn’t have an extendable hose or other necessary cleaning attachments

Dibea F6 2-in-1 Handheld Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MDQ4MG2/?tag=andy91-20Of all the cordless vacuums we have selected for this review, the Dibea F6 is the lightest in terms of weight. Add it to the low profile which it enjoys, and this vacuum would make slaloming past furniture a cinch.

With most vacuum cleaners, there comes a stage after excessive vacuuming when their suction power tends to decrease. It happens when the same dust which the vacuum is expected to devour starts accumulating around its motor, meaning you cannot go ahead without removing the dust first.

Luckily, thanks to the cyclonic filtration system, this vacuum won’t allow the dust or dander to get near the motor. Hence, no matter for how long you are using it for cleaning, the suction power will remain intact.

Finally, turning our attention to its biggest selling point, this vacuum has an anti-static carbon brushroll which allows it to suck up not only debris and fine dust but also long pet hair. So, if you need a vacuum which is as efficient on the hardwood as it is on thin carpets and rugs, Dibea F6 deserves your attention.

Pros

  • Easy to Clean
  • Extremely lightweight
  • Picks up pet hair, dirt, fine dust
  • Maintains suction power for long

Cons

  • Cleaning head isn’t that wide

Dyson V8 Absolute Cord-Free Vacuum

Being the most expensive product of this review, Dyson V8 has the features to justify its astronomical price tag. For, while other cordless vacuums have a run time of 20mins at best, Dyson V8 provides powerful suction for more than 40minutes, making it suitable for cleaning large spaces.

Such huge battery timing provided by the V8 depends, in part, on its trigger control. Unlike other vacuums which keep on running regardless of whether they are cleaning or not, this model has sensors which only turn on the vacuum once it gets close to dirt. As a result, its battery time increases.

Dyson has provided this model with a dust cap capacity of 0.14gallons and the dumping mechanism has also been re-designed. Consequently, all you need to do to empty the cap is to just release the red table locates on the upper side of the vacuum. This, in turn, would open the trap door, hence stripping off any pet hair, debris or fibers.

Finally, most cheap hardwood vacuums have the problem of slinging the big chunks of debris all around the room. Dyson has overcome this problem by providing this model with a motorized, direct-drive hardwood floor brush. As a result, this model will pick up large chunks of debris as easily as fine dust particles.

Pros

  • Huge Run time of forty minutes
  • Has an HEPA filtration system
  • Huge Suction Power
  • Can be used to clean carpets, hardwood floors

Cons

  • Ultra-expensive

Shark Navigator Freestyle Cordless Stick Vacuum (SV1106)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C351GBC/?tag=andy91-20Apart from making sure your hardwood floor gets spotless, the Shark Navigator would do one more thing to retain the surface’s beauty: it won’t scratch it. It does the same thanks to its rubber wheels and furniture guard, hence making sure no trace is left behind.

Also, unlike ordinary vacuums, we found the Sharp Navigator making short work of collecting floor and sawdust off hardwood floors. Instead of pushing the dust particles forward – no matter how small they happen to be, the brushroll of this model gathers them in such a way which allows the filter to collect them easily.

Also, depending on the brushroll you are using, this model provides up to 20minutes of run time, which means it can clean up to 740sq. feet in one charge. And that is exactly where this vacuum shows a huge shortcoming.

For, unlike other models in this review, the Shark Navigator won’t get charged up quickly. Rather, it needs up to 4hours of consistent recharging to get back to work.

Pros

  • Swivel Steering Guarantees Optimal Maneuverability
  • Has a 2Speed brushroll
  • Comes with a 5year warranty
  • Dirt Cap is easy to empty

Cons

  • When fully discharged, would require 4 hours of recharging

Prolux Ion Battery Powered Bagless Cordless Stick Vac

You can use it both as an upright cleaner while cleaning floors and a handheld model for cleaning stairs, curtains or ceilings. All you need to do is to press a single button and the conversion between models – handheld and upright, will be complete.

Secondly, even for a handheld model, the Prolux Ion is extremely lightweight. Its initial weight – while you are using its upright version, is a mere 6lbs, which would further decrease once you use it in its canister form.

Thanks to its powerful 80W DC motor, the Prolux Ion would run for 24straight minutes before needing recharging. And guess what, you won’t have to spend hours waiting before the unit gets fully recharged, for all it will take to get it back from 0 to 100% is less than two hours.

Pros

  • Provides a large number of attachments in the package
  • Equally suitable for hardwood, tile, carpet rugs
  • Has a run time of 24minutes
  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Dirt cap isn’t that easy to clean

Conclusion

There were so many features to consider – i.e. battery timing, the weight of the vacuum and suction power, to name a few, that the research was anything but easy. However, now that we have gone through that path, you don’t have to. Take advantage of our hard work and select a product which you feel can meet your requirements.
